Today marks a transformative milestone for the students and faculty of Karuri Secondary School. In a race against time and the growing threat of waterborne diseases, we officially commissioned a new clean water supply system and a comprehensive sanitation block to safeguard this vibrant academic community.
For too long, the specter of cholera has loomed over the region, often exacerbated by the lack of reliable, treated water. By bringing a direct and sustainable water supply to the heart of the campus, we aren’t just providing a utility; we are building a shield. This initiative ensures that every student can focus on their studies without the fear of preventable illness.

A Foundation for Health and Dignity
Beyond the water supply, the foundation recognized that true dignity and health require proper infrastructure. We are proud to announce the completion of eight newly sunk toilets, meticulously partitioned to serve the entire school population:
- Staff Welfare: Two dedicated units for teachers to ensure a professional and hygienic working environment.
- Empowering Students: Six units for the student body, evenly split with three for boys and three for girls to ensure privacy, safety, and adequate capacity during school hours.
This project is a testament to what is possible when we prioritize the basic human rights of health and education. As the taps are turned on for the first time, we celebrate the end of an era of uncertainty and the beginning of a healthier, more resilient Karuri Secondary School.
This is just one step in our ongoing commitment to dismantling poverty and inequality through structural support across Nairobi and beyond.
